Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, John Cleese, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis, Richard Griffiths, Richard Harris, Ian Hart, John Hurt, Alan Rickman, Fiona Shaw, Maggie Smith and Julie Walters.

In exclusive interviews from the Great Hall on the Harry Potter set, the film’s stars — Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) — will talk about their work in the movie in interstitials to be featured throughout the telecast. The telecast itself will present an extended version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, including materials not seen in the original theatrical release. And by exclusive arrangement, at the conclusion of the broadcast, ABC will air a 10-minute sneak peek at the highly anticipated third film in the blockbuster Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, opening in theatres on June 4.

Based on the first of J.K. Rowling’s popular children’s novels about Harry Potter, the live action family adventure film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone tells the story of a boy who learns on his 11th birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. Invited to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry embarks on the adventure of a lifetime and finds the home and the family he has never had.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, released in 2001, was directed by Chris Columbus and the screenplay was written by Steven Kloves based on the novel by J.K. Rowling.
