Young actor Daniel Hotchkiss from Leicestershire has some devoted fans. They’ve created a fan website about him, and even a petition to get him into the movie of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
“It all started out as a friendly post on the Rupert Grint official forums,” Daniel says. Then he got stuck with the nickname “Belt Boy”. (See his picture below to see why.) Then came the petition.
“I am a big Harry Potter fan, I have read the books numerous times, and I became aware of the physical similarities between Zacharias Smith in Order of the Phoenix and myself,” says the young inspiring actor.
“Many aspects came across through that character, which are vital to the storyline. I have played in those kinds of roles before.”
Daniel mentioned online that he’d love to play Smith one day in the movie, and that’s when his biggest fans, Joya, Jessica Lares and Lauren, started the new website and the petition.
Daniel says he loves acting, and he loves the Harry Potter films. Although his favourite Harry Potter book is Order of The Phoenix and his favourite Harry Potter character is Sirius Black, he says his favourite Harry Potter movie so far is Chamber of Secrets, “due to the amazing way that the book was brought to life by all the actors and crew.”
“The Harry Potter actors, Dan, Rupert and Emma play their roles extremely well in all the movies, and one can see an amazing improvement over the years. They do an incredible job at portraying their roles.”
His favourite non-Harry Potter actor is Rowan Atkinson, and apart from acting, he’s active in all kinds of sports, such as Basketball, Tennis and Skiing. He also says, “I love watching movies and plays of all kind, to gain experience in different areas of acting.”
“I really loved watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I don’t think that they could have improved many aspects of it, all the performances were excellent, especially in the third film, Return of the King. All the actors did their characters justice, especially Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins.”
