Evanna Lynch Spends an Hour With J.K. Rowling On the Set

Evanna Lynch’s father spoke briefly with the EvannaLynchFans.com website recently, and he gave some interesting new information on the actress who’s playing Luna Lovegood in the next Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Evanna’s Dad mentioned that just over a year ago, Evanna and some of her friends sent WB a video demo tape of them acting, hoping to earn a role in the movies, but says Evanna didn’t hear back from Warner Bros. until a day before the Luna open casting call was announced, and they said at the time that they couldn’t offer her a part.

When Evanna saw the news on Harry Potter fan web sites that there would be an open casting call for Luna in London, her Dad says she wasn’t overly excited but more surprised and expectant. After the open auditions, Evanna was picked straightaway from the 400 hopefuls that were narrowed down from the 15,000 who turned up.

Evanna’s Dad says the filming hours are long but Evanna is really enjoying herself. She and some of the other actors are receiving acting tuition. Also, Evanna is getting along very well with the cast and she spoke to J.K. Rowling for at least an hour when the author visited the set last week. Indeed, Evanna must have made a real impression on Jo, as she said just yesterday on the diary on her official site that she only had one word to say about Evanna: “perfect”.
