When the professors at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry decided to reveal some of their most exciting secrets to the Muggle world, they chose a select group of Mad Scientists to spread the knowledge. Kids here in Middle Tennessee can get in on the magic with hands-on science workshops courtesy of Mad Science, the only official provider of licensed Harry Potter science workshops and products.
Workshops meet weekly for six weeks at various locations around town to create a golden snitch, capture lightning, examine a day in the life of an owl, build a teleidoscope (a combination periscope and kaleidoscope) and more. Scout groups and other clubs can sign up to host a program, and a summer camp is also planned. For more information, call 650-0078 or visit www.madscience.org/nashville.
