Last week we told you about the first edition copy of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, signed by J.K. Rowling, that was to be auctioned to raise money for the Peace Hospice in Watford, England.
The book is now for sale on eBay, and at the time of this writing, the high bid was $5,400.00.
The Peace Hospice, based in Watford, England, cares for terminally ill patients and their families from South West Hertfordshire. They provide inpatient care, day care, outpatient service and a hospice at home service as well as bereavement support.
The hospice’s fundraiser Louise Bingham says it costs �3m a year to provide these services and over 80% of this is supported through charitable donations. All the care they provide is free.
