Quidditch Sandwich Flies into Manitoba Deli

I’m not making this up. According to several reports on the internet today, a new Harry Potter-themed deli in Manitoba, Canada, has a very interesting sandwich on its menu.

It’s called a Quidditch, and it is made up of (hold your stomach) pickles, mayonnaise, radishes, alfalfa spouts, and wild moose meat.

I’d like to tell you how I feel about that recipe, but I can’t spell “Ewwww!”

I think most Harry Potter fans could think of a much better idea for a Quidditch sandwich. I’d think it would at least have to contain small meat balls made from some bird, like chicken or turkey.

Oh my, I need to get the taste of that Manitoba Quidditch sandwich out of my mouth, someone please pass me a Butterbeer.

Does not sound so bad, if you find this offensive do a bit of research into what domesticated meat is made of. All sorts of chemicals and body parts that would normally be discarded. If one follows the trail of ‘home grown’ from the farm through the slaughter house and processing centers to your kitchen table, it may well put you off all types of meat.

I don’t think it sounds bad – I have eaten and enjoyed moose meat! Maybe “don’t knock it til you’ve tried it?”…LOL!

Well said, KMD – most meat products are so overprocessed and unhealthy, not to mention the cruelty of the slaughter, especially concerning poultry meat. I am sure most peolpe couldn’t stomach their ordinary portion of meat if they knew what goes into it. “Wild moose meat” doesn’t sound worse to me than any other meat produce, at least the non-rganic variety.

What about Falafel (as the snitch) and maybe some hoops cut out of red pepper ( the goalposts) and then maybe some chickpeas ( the quaffels) as a Quidditch sarnie?
