In a visit to South Tama Intermediate School to promote the National Education Association’s Read Across America and help the students celebrate the anniversary of the 100th birthday of the late Dr. Seuss, Iowa’s Governor Tom Vilsack read to students, and then spoke with them and answered questions.
The governor boasted he was probably the only governor in the country to have read all five “Harry Potter” books, to which many of the children responded that they had all five books as well, before asking the governor which one was his favorite.
The governor replied he had not enjoyed the fourth and fifth books very well and that the fifth book was his favorite.
