Viggo Mortensen Real-Life Hero on Set of Hidalgo

Lord of the Rings star Viggo Mortensen saved his co-star from a runaway horse on the set of his latest film Hidalgo.

The Danish hunk and British actress Zuleikha Robinson were caught on the dangerous animal when Zuleikha lost control and the horse threatened to jump over a high wall while filming in Saudi Arabia.

Brave Mortensen, 45, says, “I knew on the other side there were trucks and equipment. I was sitting behind Zuleika and I was just hanging on. Somehow we stayed on, but she lost the reins.

“I jumped off and grabbed them and it was a miracle that nobody, not even the horse, got hurt. We could easily have been killed”

Mortensen went on to purchase one of the horses he rode in the film.
