Elijah Wood Wants to Be Stomped on by King Kong

Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood told Sci Fi Wire that he talked with Rings writers Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens after last week’s Oscar ceremony about returning to New Zealand to snag a small part in director Peter Jackson’s upcoming King Kong remake.

“I was up in their suite after the awards on Sunday night, or it was Monday morning at that point, and I was saying goodbye to Fran and Philippa, and they said, ‘Well, you’re coming down?'” Wood said in an interview while promoting his next film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

“I said, ‘I’m coming down in September, when you guys are shooting,'” Wood added. “And they were like, ‘Well, we got to get you in there somehow.’ So hopefully.”

What role would Wood like? “I’ve talked about” it with Jackson, he said. “I just said I wanted to come down and visit and hopefully be allowed to be stomped on by a foot. So hopefully I’ll have something like that.” Eternal Sunshine opens March 19.
